Welcome to Knitting Central's online shop. We are proud to bring our fibers into your home. Often, we have hand dyers produce specific fiber combinations and/or colors just for our shop. Therefore, unlike readily available yarn lines, there can be a slightly longer delivery time. We're sure you will agree that it's worth the wait!
We are excited to announce that Knitting Central is back online and taking things in a new direction. We will of course be keeping all of our favorite items on line. We are working very hard to discover knitted and crocheted treasures from both home and abroad that marry our love and dedication for fiber with fashion of the ready to wear and ready-made world.
We have found that while selecting projects, some have not been challenging enough, yet others can be too difficult. The finished product, however, might be one we would consider a "forever" piece in our collection. In these cases, having someone else do the work allows us to have the best of both worlds. There are so many people in the world who create amazing garments and artwork with fiber, it is hard to keep track of them all. Our new challenge, and our pleasure, is to search them out and bring them to you.
Every thing we offer will be of the highest quality and will either be hand knit/crocheted or hand crafted. We will make every effort to be environmentally conscious and will try to support fair trade groups, women’s cooperatives, and others that are working to improve their own situations.
The new Knitting Central is a work in progress. We will be presenting to you our new concepts and new yarns as we discover them. "Ready Made", including both ready to wear garments and ready made knitted and crocheted gifts, as well as "Knitting Projects" are two new features we are bringing to the site.
Our newsletter will continue to keep you in touch with new discoveries and fun facts that we learn throughout our travels. Please make sure to sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t yet.
